In 2026, Melissa launched Satya Apertura—a practice rooted in both philosophy and photography.
Satya (Sanskrit) means truth, authenticity, and that which is unchanging. Apertura refers to the opening of a lens—the space through which light enters and an image is revealed.
Together, Satya Apertura reflects a central idea: the lens through which truth is revealed.
In an era shaped by artificial intelligence and constant screen exposure—especially for children—Melissa’s work invites a return to intentional seeing. Her approach encourages participants to slow down, observe more deeply, and reconnect with what is real, present, and meaningful.
