I’ve spent 18 years creating images and now I’m focused on helping people truly see.

This isn’t a departure from my career, but an expansion of it. After nearly two decades as a Multimedia Producer, Photo Editor & Photographer, several things converged:

  • The rapid rise of AI and its impact on the creative industry

  • A deepening pull toward mindfulness, informed by my yoga certification and Ruth Davey’s Look Again methodology in which I am certified

  • 16 years connected to the USAID community as a trailing spouse, and a period of transition within that world

  • Parenting two young kids through the pandemic

All of it led me to ask: what else can I offer? That’s how Satya Apertura was born.

Satya (Sanskrit): truth, authenticity, that which is real Apertura: the opening in a lens through which light enters. “The lens through which truth is revealed.”

I’m now offering:

• Mindful Photography workshops

• Parent/Child photography experiences

• Custom sessions for individuals, families, couples and organizations

These sessions are designed to help people slow down, connect, and see more clearly for themselves, with their children, or as part of a team.

For organizations, this work can support:

  • Team connection and trust

  • Perspective-building

  • Creative reset and well-being

If this resonates, I’d love to connect.
